I really do feel like a jerk for not watching any of the Olympics. Not sure why I didn't. Either way, here are some photo highlights. A few are pretty funny.

That Was Epic.com
Ever since Youtube was created I've been annoyed by the idiotic comments on each video. ThatWasEpic.com takes such comments from various video sites and decontextualizes them, turning them into a gallery of large poetic statements. Did I mention that I hate Youtube commentors?

Ghostshrimp
While searching for images of The Misadventures of Flapjack, I ran across Ghostshrimp, a collective of artists who I am now geeking out over. They've done storyboards for Flapjack episodes. They also have a few music-related works floating around.

Olympics girl
real singer
replaced face
Apparently during the opening ceremony at the Olympics, a little girl was singing "Ode to the Motherland." But she was lip-syncing to the song. The real girl who sang the song was not deemed "cute" enough for tv. OUCH.

Stackable iPod Speakers
These look wonderful. Though I doubt they sound that good, and I'm always wary of speakers made specifically for iPods. But it's good to see nicely designed products on the market. $129 at PBTeen.

Sun Jar
"Pairing a traditional glass mason jar with a solar-charged high-tech energy efficient LED lamp, the Sun Jar generates soft natural light in a very appealing package. Just place the Sun Jar in direct sunlight during the day, and see that sunlight returned in the form of glowing LED awesomeness at night."

iHologram by David O'Reilly
David O'Reilly, an experimental animator that I've been following lately, has coded an iPhone application which displays one of his characters running. Depending on which way you turn the iPhone, the angle changes giving the illusion of the cat being 3D. O'Reilly is awesome. If you haven't seen his cartoon "Please Say Something", WATCH IT. It is one of my favorite things on the internet.
